AC motor, the AC motor is an Alternating Current (AC) driven electric motor. Commonly the AC Motor has two main parts. The stator, which is a coil supplied with Alternating Current to create a magnetic field. On this stator a rotor is attached to produce a second rotating magnetic field. DC motor, In essence a DC Motor is almost the same as an AC motor. But, as the name gives it away, the DC motor uses direct current to transform electrical energy into mechanical energy. DC motors where the first widely spread type of electrical motor. The big advantage of DC motors is that the speed can be controlled over a wide range. AC/ DC servo motor, now you know the difference between an AC and DC motor. We’ll highlight the next category which is the servo motor. A servo motor or servo mechanism, is a device that can automatically regulate a mechanic system, without a direct mechanical connection. A great example of a servo motor is the cruise control in your car. A servo motor uses the concept of counteraction.
